Artist Bio

Heather Cline is a professional visual artist based in Saskatchewan. Her work can be found in corporate, private and public collections in Canada, the U.S.A. and Europe. In her most recent artwork, she is exploring the radically altered terrain of Western Canada based on observations of the land from the passenger seat of a Cessna Skyhawk. Her juicy thick paintings merge atmospheric painting with modernist abstraction informed by the aerial viewpoint, creating shifting spaces with a unique use of colour informed by but not dictated by the real.

Cline has her MFA from the University of Saskatchewan and has exhibited throughout Canada, with solo exhibitions at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery (Oshawa, ON), Strathcona County Art Gallery @ 501 (Strathcona County, AB) and regional exhibition centers throughout Western Canada. Her work can be found in many public and private collections, including the Canadian Senate, The Mendel Collection at the Remai Modern, the Colart Collection, SK Arts and Global Affairs Canada.
