June 2025 - End of the year School Art Gallery Tour and Hands-on Activities

Exhibition: True North: MJM&AG Permanent Collection
May 30 - August 31, 2025
This exhibit presents the diversity of Canadian art within the MJM&AG’s Permanent Collection, with the exception of Joyce Wieland’s O Canada silkscreen borrowed from the Regina Public Library Collection. True North reflects on the diversity of expression within cultural and historical narratives that contribute to the makeup of our nation, including an exploration of Canadiana, our colonial history and its continuing impacts.
Theme: Looking at Art to create a diverse Canada Identity
Activity: (Until June 12) Clay sculptures bobble head
Students will learn pinch pot techniques to create a Character inspired from the exhibition.
(June 16 – 20) Tour available both in English or French this week.
Metis Finger Weaving (Grade 4 & up) or
Medicinal plant pastel drawing (in this activity, younger students up to Grade 4 will explore local native plants to learn about their healing qualities and draw using markers and pastels to create an art project)
