This course continues with the exploration of techniques and skills covered in the Watercolour Introduction claass. This new course will dive deeper into how to create realistic shadows, types of watercolour paint and the surprising ways of using them, mixing and using colour theory and what a mother colour is. This class will be about learning, discussing and practicing these new techniques.

Cost: $100/materials NOT included/ some supplies available in the MJMAG giftshop

Material List

Watercolour paper - 9 × 12 inch - watercolour 100% cotton pad (please make sure it says cotton on the front cover)

Brushes - rounds - #8, #4, and a liner or rigger brush

-flat - ½ and 2 inch student grade

Palette - 18 well watercolour palette with 2 mixing areas and a lid. (ex: Mr. Pen airtight 18 well on Amazon works well)

Paint - Some of you may already have many if took first class

Lemon yellow, cadmium yellow medium, cadmium red medium, Alizarin crimson, Cerulean blue, Ultramarine blue, raw sienna, burnt sienna, raw umber, Payne’s grey, neutral tint, Chinese white

NOTE FOR STUDENTS: you can find the cadmium yellow and red that comes with the word HUE in the title. These tubes are student grade and usually much cheaper.

Extra supplies for course: spray bottle, tissues Ex: kleenix, roll of blue painters tape (1 inch), a writing pad for notes, HB pencil and pink eraser
